Welcome to SciShop.
SciShop is an online resource area to support teachers and students in KS3 Science. The resources are drawn from a number of locations : the Internet , ASE Books and Images, and contributions from members of the ASE . SciShop is intended to help teachers and students to locate suitable resources which are related to specific learning objectives of the KS3 National Curriculum.
SciShop derives it name from the original idea : to provide a virtual Shopping Cart facility for science educators and students to find resources to match specific learning objectives.
SciShop is not intended to be just a set of lesson plans. It is designed to provide a range of resources to enable teachers of science to select material to assist teachers in their own individual lesson plans. Teachers and students may use the database for classroom resources, for project work , and for homework assignments.
Scishop has a facility to download resources from the SciShop's host computer. These are listed in the 'Uploaded Resource' for a record. These resources are either ASE material or material that members have submitted for inclusion into the database. The database can provide documents that have been produced in MS Word (doc) , html , gif and jpg (images) , and Adobe Acrobat documents (pdf) .
The material has been chosen by teachers and educators as possible resources for use with KS3 Schemes of Work. It is up to the teacher to (i) determine whether the material is suitable for the chosen activity, and (ii) perform any appropriate risk assessments where experimental investigations are given.
The Editors of SciShop will be pleased to accept ideas and new resources for inclusion in the database. If you have produced work that you consider suitable for inclusion, please contact one of the SciShop Editors. A condition for uploading material onto one of our servers is that the material must your own, including any images and photographs that you have used.
